Dear Zip -- YIKES! I'm Unemployed! AGAIN!

Hi, Zip!

Well, here I am again. You would think I could learn to hold onto a job, especially since I vowed to change my life after my breast cancer experience. Maybe this is my new phase: unemployment, depression, anxiety, and near financial ruin.

WOO HOO! Pardon the pun, Zip, but it's a jungle out there! So many of us looking for jobs, no health care, a weak economy, high gas prices, and debt up to our eyeballs! But, we've been through rough times before, right? Remember the "Saturday night 'no dinner scare' of 1969?" That was when mom and dad had a huge fight near dinner time and we were afraid mom wouldn't cook us anything. I remember asking my sister, Suzie, if she thought we would get supper, and she said, "let's hope not, mom is a horrible cook!" What??? But tonight is wennie night!

That's right, Saturday night -- tasteless boiled wennies, Spaghettios, potato chips and Hee Haw!. It was a magical night that was repeated, every week, for decades to come. And, if all the wennies weren't eaten, they'd appear (sliced) in Sunday's green beans! "Yum-Yum!"

We made it through, right Zip? You aren't just my childhood friend, you are my Bodhisattva. You've always been with me as far back as I can remember, and you're always there with open arms!

If I were to write an autobiograhy, it would be entitled, "A Monkey Runs Through It!" As a child my father used to hold a little mirror in his hand, come up to me and ask, "want to see a monkey?;" and, my Chinese Astrological birth sign is the Monkey.

So, Zip, let's start this very special journey. I wouldn't want to share it with anyone else but you!

Love,
Shelly
